The Renewable Hub field team navigated through bustling markets across Kampala as they made their way to visit customers and retailers who had been using their products. These field visits are essential—they allow the team to gather feedback, provide support, and witness the real-world impact of their work in different market communities.
First stop: the home of Sarah Nabirye, a mother of four who had purchased an improved cookstove six months ago. The moment the team arrived, Sarah's face lit up with recognition. "You're from Renewable Hub! Come, let me show you how much my life has changed."
In her outdoor kitchen, Sarah demonstrated the cookstove with obvious pride. "Before this stove, I spent half my day collecting firewood and the other half coughing from smoke," she explained. "Now I use half the charcoal, my kitchen stays clean, and my children can play nearby while I cook."
The team documented Sarah's experience, taking notes on her feedback. When asked if she would recommend the product to others, her response was enthusiastic: "I already have! Three of my neighbors have bought the same stove because they saw how well it works for me."

Next, the team visited Paul Musoke, a local retailer who had partnered with Renewable Hub three months earlier. His small shop now featured a dedicated section for clean cooking and solar products. "These products sell themselves," Paul said. "When customers see the quality and hear the testimonials from other users, they want to buy."
Paul shared insights about customer preferences and questions. "People always ask about warranties and after-sales support," he noted. "That's where Renewable Hub excels—the support doesn't end with the sale."
The highlight of the visit came at the home of Margaret Namuli, an enthusiastic user of multiple Renewable Hub products. She had started with a solar lighting system, then added an improved cookstove, and recently purchased a water filter. "Each product solved a specific problem," she explained.
Margaret's testimonial was glowing. "Look at my family," she said, gesturing to her smiling children. "Better lighting means they study more. Clean cooking means we're all healthier. Safe water means no more waterborne diseases. Renewable Hub has changed everything for us."
The team photographed Margaret using her cookstove, her smile radiating genuine satisfaction. These are the moments that make all the hard work worthwhile—seeing real people benefiting from clean energy solutions.
As the field visit concluded, the team reflected on what they had learned. Customer feedback would inform product improvements, retailer insights would shape training programs, and the testimonials would inspire new customers to make the switch to clean energy. Most importantly, they had witnessed firsthand the transformative power of accessible renewable energy.
